Hosting the first ever World Cup in the United States, the WRRC has written history last weekend. Acrobatic Rock 'n' Roll Main Class Free Style and Boogie Woogie Main Class couples largely from Europe found their way across the Big Pond to celebrate the occasion. The Russians  Margarita Charkovskaya & Ivan Kudryashov and Norwegians  Tatiana Georgiievska & Sondre Olsen-Bye won the Rock 'n' Roll and Boogie Woogie competition, respectively. In parallel, a World Cup for the Juveniles, Juniors and Main Class Contact Style was held in Ukraine.  Kira Grokhova & Oleksandr Tsvietkov (UKR),  Polina Rykova & Noa Lilih (CRO) and  Veronika Megyesi & Jonas Brauer (HUN) conquered the top places in the three categories.

As part of the American DanceSport Festival the World Cup in the USA took place in Miami, Florida. Unfortunately the competition was overshadowed by a plunge of czech dancers  Lenka Richtrová & Marek Divoký while practicing a double somersault for a show following the competition.

After a visit to the hospital it seems Lenka will be fine. She had to undergo a surgery on her broken elbow. We wish her all the best for her recovery, that they will remember mostly the 2nd place achieved in the World Cup, their best-ever international result, and that we will see them on competitions again soon. Next to the winners  Charkovskaya/Kudryashov, swiss couple  Noëmi Kuran-Pellegatta & Nicolas Kuran-Pellegatta completed the Main Class Free Style podium on the 3rd place.

Among the Boogie Woogie competitors  Georgiievska/Olsen-Bye are first to win a WRRC World Cup on the american continent. Finish couple  Mari Munne & Juho Päivinen and the swedish  Sara Victorin & Pontus Spelmans conquer the 2nd and 3rd place, respectively. Meanwhile in the Ukraine, hungarian couple  Megyesi/Brauer went for their first international victory in the Main Class Contact Style category. See their performance in the video below.  Gaja Malovrh & Jaka Južnič and  Loti Marinko & Jaka Vrevc-Zlajpah, both from Slovenia, win Silver and Bronze.



Unsurprisingly,  Rykova/Lilih from Slovenia and  Grokhova/Tsvietkov from the hosting country Ukraine won among the Juveniles and Juniors, respectively.
